Injuries
Students injured while at school are cared for in the following ways:
The injuries may be inspected by the teacher & the student kept under observation in the classroom.
If the injury is serious enough or needs medical attention, the child is sent to the office. The child's name, injury, and action taken are recorded.
Head Bumps: The home is routinely notified of any student receiving a blow to the head, whether it appears serious or not. If the student does not appear to have any serious symptoms, and we do not reach a parent at the first number we try, we will leave a message and return the child to class. This notification is to alert you to the possibility of symptoms after school hours. Written information indicating what to watch for is also sent home with your child.
In the case of an accident requiring medical care, close observation, or parent involvement, all of the phone numbers on the student information card will be tried until we reach a responsible adult. In the event that we are unable to reach a responsible adult, emergency services (911) may be called. If your child is transported to a medical facility, you will be financially responsible for all costs incurred.
