Health Screenings
From time to time, students will be screened for serious health concerns, including but not limited to hearing, vision, height, and weight. Health screenings may also be conducted when a concern arises. A permission slip will not be sent home for parent permission in advance of the screening. Parents may opt out by notifying the school nurse in writing.
Vision and hearing screening is performed on students in grades k-7 and all special education students every fall. The results of the screening are on file at the health office or available on school view. Parents are only notified if their students has failed the screening and needs to be referred to a medical provider for further evaluation. Screenings may be requested by parents at other times during the school year by contacting the health office.
Parent volunteers are always welcome! Contact Glenda Christianson if you are interested in helping with screenings.
